No’ Mo’ Workin’ Blues
I am fortunate to have a job that I really like the majority of the time. Today, I stayed late, just so I could disprove something that someone reported as an issue. (I have to be as vague as possible. You never know who reads these things.) As a result, I didn’t leave the office until about 6:30, but unfortunately that means my time with Cooper was limited to about an hour. I still managed to make the most of that time, and we had our fun.
I try to maintain a healthy balance between work and family. Sometimes work spills over into what should be family time. That normally happens so that I can leave work knowing I did the best I could for that day. That way, when I do get home, I’m not thinking about what I should have or could have done at work while I should be focusing on my family. Sometimes, it’s good for me to stick to my usual 7:30-4:30 schedule. Other times, I need to stay a little longer just so I don’t come home with a cloud from work hanging over my head, wondering about what I should have done.
Sticking to a regular work schedule is great, as long as you’re able to leave work at the door when you get home. On days when I know I just won’t be able to leave work until I’ve hit a good stopping point, then I’ll stay a little later. I may see less of my family that night, but my time with them will be focused and free of distractions.
Ramblin’ Cooper
I had a little too much fun with the idiot-proof film editing software the comes with one of Bill Gates’ operating systems, and its built-in effects. At the time, it seemed like a funny idea to film Cooper waddling around and set it to old-time music.

The music is from Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers. They were active from 1923-1930, but I don’t know the dates the specific songs I used were recorded.
I apologize that it’s another video of Cooper walking, but remember, this blog is as much for me and Cooper as it is for the rest of the world. Just wait until he sees this goofy stuff when he’s a teenager.
Walking Around
Cooper is walking now. It’s the real thing. He walks in short spurts, so the camera isn’t always available. Here’s a very short clip of a brief walk from the living room coffee table to the kitchen.
