New York Times Obama Endorsement
Editorial - Barack Obama - Editorial Board - Endorsement - NYTimes.com.
The New York Times (NYT) has endorsed a Democratic candidate in every election since 1960, so their endorsement of Sen. Obama in 2008 isn’t much of a surprise. I have avoided reading, or listening to, presidential endorsements in what has probably been a futile effort to avoid further clouding of my judgment. The comparison and contrast was interesting, and laid a clear case for the endorsement. Many of the endorsement’s arguments are the same ones that I — and most other Obama supporters — have made the choice to vote for him in this election.
Also, on a related note, here’s an example of a dishonest tactic by Republicans in Pennsylvania to sway voters to vote Republican in 2008.
Cooper’s New Look
I was talking to my folks tonight, and they noted he is starting to look less like a “baby” in our most recent photos of him. It’s true, and it’s one of those bittersweet times that most parents must experience. I’d bet money that this is also about the time when thoughts of having another baby start creeping into people’s minds as well. This dad hasn’t reached that point.
We’re watching our baby grow up. While I’ll miss baby Cooper, I’m looking forward to playing ball in the yard, walks to the park, and other father-son activities that are important in a boy’s life.
First Day
Cooper spent his first day in his new day care facility today, and had a great day. He was a little tentative at first, but when I picked him up this afternoon, he was having a great time. His teachers said he had fun outside today, and I know he was trying to tell me all about it on the way home. (We don’t speak your language yet, Cooper!)
All of my previous concerns were squashed after today, so we’re more than happy with our decision. If anyone in the Austin area is curious, I’d be happy to provide more details about the facility. Feel free to contact me for more information about our experience.
