Defining Quality Time
Since our time with Cooper is limited during the week, the “quality” time I spend with him sometimes manifests in unconventional ways. One of those ways has become a 10:00 PM checkup and diaper change. He normally sleeps through the ritual, but it’s a chance for me to appreciate just what a great little person he is. During those few minutes, I get to watch him make his little toddler expressions and listen to the relaxing sound of his breath. Before I set him back down in his crib, I hold him for a few minutes and tell him how loved he is.
Though I could look at this nightly checkup as a chore, I actually look forward to it most nights. It’s a great way for me to end the day on a good note, and appreciate Cooper in a different way. I often get as much out of those few moments as I do out of a few hours of play time.

Sounds like a good time to comtemplate what you have. Nice. Mrs. LIAYF does the same before bed, minus the diaper changing.
James,
Wouldn’t bother with the diaper changes, except that Cooper’s very prone to diaper rash. While we’re up there, we just make it part of the routine. He just sleeps through it all anyway. Weird kid
